Bloomsburg Falls to East Stroudsburg in Baseball

NEWPORT NEWS, VA--The Bloomsburg University baseball team lost to East Stroudsburg, 14-9, in 11 innings on Friday at the Builders Invitational in Newport News, VA.

The Huskies rallied from a 7-2 deficit by scoring four runs in the bottom of the fourth and two more in the seventh to take an 8-7 lead. The big hit for the Huskies in the fourth was a two-run single from Matt Robinson, while in the seventh Kevin Ward had an RBI double to tie the game and then scored the go-ahead run on a wild pitch.

In the top of the ninth, the Warriors tied the game with a run coming in on a two-out single. East Stroudsburg went in front 9-8 with a run in the top of the 10th before the Huskies tied the game with a single run in the home half of the inning.

In the 11th, the Warriors scored five times to put the game away.

Bloomsburg was led offensively by Jeremy Eck who was 3-4, while Andy Bucher was 3-6 with three runs scored.

The Huskies were playing Kutztown late on Saturday night.
